Aviation Art - Aviation Artist - Jonathan Margetts
    Jonathan Margetts Aviation Artist

Jonathan Margetts is an aviation artist living and working in Bath & North East Somerset.   His initial interest in aviation was inspired by his father who was in the Fleet Air Arm and was a keen amateur artist.   He has fond memories of the excitement of flying as a passenger in Auster Autocrats and a de Havilland Hornet Moth based at Ipswich Airport, his home town in his early teens.

In his mid twenties in the early 1980’s Jonathan discovered his love and talent for painting aircraft in-between jobs and exhibited some watercolours at an Aero-Jumble stand at RNAS Yeovilton where he sold his first works and received commissions.   In 1984 he received a commercial commission to paint six aviation paintings that were used by a major well known Greeting Card manufacturer.

Over the few years, Jonathan has been commissioned to provide quality aviation work from many parts of the world, from commercial outlets to private collectors.

Jonathan has previously exhibited and sold artwork at the annual Guild of Aviation Artist’s Annual London exhibition.

He specialises in creating individual paintings of General Light Aviation and several of his works now hang in Flying Clubs in the UK.
